Padme's Lavender Nightgown (or "Sleepless Knight" gown) Revenge of the Sith. I guess you could call it a Bee in my Bonnet. I first saw this costume on Friday morning, and I could not rest until I could create it. I don't know what exactly struck me--But I just fell in love with this gown. On a recent fabric trip a material caught my eye and I loved it, but I had no need for it, but when I saw the Image from Hyperspace, I just knew I had to use that fabric to make this gown. I rushed out and bought it, as well as a few other supplies and started to burn the midnight oil. With the encouragement of my friend Maggie, and my husband Chad I decided to try and make this beautiful gown. I sewed from 11p.m. Friday night and finshed it early Sunday afternoon--but taking a large break Sat night to eat out and watch some T.V. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. The gown is made with a full undergown, and an optional "pregnant tummy" that wears like a girdle. The pearls are not displayed correctly on my dressform--She has NO arms for them to drape around--LOL! The silver brooch, and the snippet on the necklace were made from clay and painted. All of the jewelry and pearls are removable. The fabric is a beautiful chiffon that changes color from blue to periwinkle to lavender. The bottom of the gown as well as the back are purely speculative. They are not visible in the reference photo I had available. NOTE- I do not take
orders for custom costumes. Sorry.
