'Funny Girl'
This costume was created for a young lady to wear in a talent show. It is a younger and more modern version of the costume worn by Barbara Streisand in "Funny Girl". The original, as is this one, is worn with rollerskates and has multiple clusters of grapes dangling from it. The original version was more frumpy, where this replica was made to flatter my client's figure. It is made of multiple layers of net in three different colors to flatter the irredescent fabrics in the costume. Purple rhinestones are scattered throughout the net, and glitter was added to the grapes to add interest and shine. The straps are made of beaded and sequined flowers, and there is a large bow in the back. My client opted to not have the matching hat.
This was a fun costume to re-create, and I am especially fond of the colors.
