Can it be? Padme Picnic Dress Sequins, at last!
We've all been on the lookout for a long time for the perfectly shaped sequins to sprinkle all over our replicas of Padme's Picnic gown. Just when you thought an "X" shaped sequin would be easy to find--Ha! Try looking. They are impossible to find. So then we all brainstormed and came up with punching them out of Shimmer Sheetz mylar, but then to find a proper shaped paper punch proved difficult. Obi-Dawn finally found a butterfly shaped punch and went to town-hand puching hundreds of little butterflies and then clipping off their little antlers. OUCH! (for her hands and the poor butterflies)
Well, now that most of us have already completed at least one version of this gown NOW I happen to stumble across what I think *might* be the PERFECT sequin.
I was shopping at my favorite
fabric store here in Florida and this beautiful sequin covered silk just
happened to catch my eye as I was shopping for something else. I almost
died and ran over to it, wiping the drool from my mouth (LOL!) Then of
course--SCREECH! The price tag--$85.00 a yard! Yeek!
Well, after losing sleep
thinking of this fabric, and worrying that it would be sold and never return--I
bit the bullet and bought 1/8 of a yard. Well, that small amont did give
me hundreds of sequins and I thought I would share them with everyone.
So, what do you think?
