I saw this hanging in the window and just had to make it! LOL! 
This is the iconic gown of Scarlett O'Hara from the movie 'Gone With the Wind'. Desperate to pay the taxes on Tara, a desperate Scarlett goes to visit wealthy Rhett Butler in a jail. Of course she had to go looking like a Queen, so down came her mother's portiers and Voila! A confection of green velvet.

This gown was made for my cousin to wear for Halloween. A child's "Costume version" was created out of velvet, suede cloth, rich gold cording, huge tassels, and hat blooming with plumes and even that famous chicken foot. I created a "mini" hoop skirt to give the dress the proper "belle" shape.
